I think it’s safe to say that 2011 is the year of cable dramas, with another on the way! Newleywed singer-turned-actress Eugene has already chosen her next project for a new cable channel. She’ll be playing Byun Sora, an ambitious working woman in the cosmetics industry. She comes from a hardworking, ordinary family and is seen in the drama as only having “average” looks, whatever the hell that means.
Her character has already once been betrayed by love in the drama, as well as experiencing a heartbreak of another sorts — having to give up her dreams of becoming a professor. Despite the bitterness of failure in the departments of love and career, Byun will overcome past adversities as she lands a new job in a cosmetics company. However, in order to pursue success and fight for love, she’ll be pitted against a new rival. Dun, dun, dun.
Honestly, the drama doesn’t sound all that appealing to me, but I adore Eugene. The biggest highlight for her this year — and probably for the media and fans — was her marriage to her co-star in Creating Destiny, Ki Tae Young. (The two are pictured being lovey-dovey below).
She was last seen in the 2010 drama hit King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo, and was also featured in one of the KBS Drama Specials earlier this year, called Princess Hwapyung’s Weight Loss.
Color of Woman is set to air sometime in December later this year on Channel A, but being that it’s already November and that a finalized cast has yet to be announced, I’m hoping that the drama won’t end up scrambling at the last second to get the episodes on air.
