Boys Before Flowers, hands down. I still am amazed that I wasted a day of my life watching that show.. Sigh.
Me too. I still remember when I raved about it to friends, and ran home each day just to watch it. Now I can’t rewatch it at all, or else I’d die from laughing at the idiocy of the show.
I probably am still at the stage where I get to like every drama (except Cain and Abel but then again no one else seem to like it either). To my utter suprise I don’t have an answer to that question.
*sheepishly raises hand* Um…I sort of liked Cain and Abel. But this was a looooooooonnnnngggg time ago, so I’d have to rewatch it. I don’t remember much from the drama, to be honest, and only watched it for So Ji Sub.
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with liking every drama you’ve seen! Enjoy the honeymoon stage as much as you can! 😉
Secret Garden takes the whatthefuckery of the plot to another level. THIS, and the idiocy of the romance. I have headaches everytime I remember the abusive relationship of the leads. I hate the writing of that drama so. much. Ha Ji Won, my love, what they did to you? Hyun Bin, I won’t even start to talk about you.
Flower Boy Ramyun Shop, *sigh*, why so schiso… *wait, let me check the writing of this word*… schizophrenic? Really, I could never, even in a thousand years, buy the absurdity of the drama, like I already said in another post here. I felt abused by the load of fanservice everywhere ( but, Lee Ki Woo, you’re always welcome, rawr). Lee Chung Ah was so exagerated in every scene that I felt annoyed and Jung Il Woo also didn’t escape from the norm. That said, the OTP did nothing to me. I prefer an amazing development of an relationship, with it’s ups and downs, than hot kisses with no background charm.
Boys Before Flowers… just one word: trainwreck. Like Dahee Fanel once said, BOF “sets feminism back 20 years”. And I also read the whole manga.
“Secret Garden takes the whatthefuckery of the plot to another level. THIS, and the idiocy of the romance. I have headaches everytime I remember the abusive relationship of the leads.”
Yes! That’s precisely why I hate Secret Garden so much! The other day, a friend of mine was saying that Secret Garden was one of her favoritest dramas EVER. Me: You’ve got to be kidding me!
As for BOF, I totally agree that it was a trainwreck, but an addicting trainwreck for a few months. The Japanese adaptation was MUCH better, in my opinion.
Agree with most of the choices: BOF – can never watch it again and dislike myself just a little for finishing it at all; FBRS – finished it too, but will never watch it again and wished very hard for a different ending; and MSOAN – it should be MOANS because the pathetic plot was such a waste for the cast. I still don’t understand why everyone fawned over this show (gross, gross daddy wanting his son to marry Mary because she reminded him of her mother – BLECH).
“and MSOAN – it should be MOANS because the pathetic plot was such a waste for the cast.”
BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Omg, that cracked me up SO much! I think I’ll be referring to MSOAN as “MOANS” from now on! Bwahahahah!
I’m not a fan of My Girlfriend is a Gumiho or Dream High. I watched these because people were talking about how amazing they were but I just couldn’t get into them.
I hope you know that it’s definitely NOT a crime for you to dislike what other people like. We all have our own preferences, and we should embrace diversity! (I sound like some college campus spokesperson.) Just think of every drama as if it’s a man (or woman) — not every person would find Justin Beiber or Brad Pitt or [insert someone’s name here] appealing. Therefore if MGIAG or Dream High aren’t your cup o’ tea, then skip it and watch something you DO like! Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Sadly, my kdrama honeymoon ended a little early, although I still love them. My Girl is the show I’m still annoyed with. Lee Da Hae’s smile got on my nerves (I seriously couldn’t understand why it irritated me so much, when I’m not anti-LDH) , Lee Dong Woo was gorgeous but sooo boring, the show was really funny and then overboard melo, and the final episode gave me whiplash from A-N-G-S-T to Happily Ever After. I did love Lee Jun Ki, just not his mopey second lead character, who I thought was too good for LDH.
I was never on the My Girl bandwagon, either. I do, however, remember seeing Lee Junki for the first time and boy was he swoontastic!
No worries about not liking Lee Da Hae. I don’t think the hardcore fangirls are gonna come after you on this blog. 😀
Who said so? RAWR!!!
lol
LOL. But you weren’t going to actually cause havoc, were you? You’re not THAT crazy, am I right? 😛
Secret Garden, City Hunter, and the most recent works of Hong Sisters. I simply don’t get it.
Whoa, you didn’t like City Hunter? Pray, tell me why! I thought it’d be a drama you’d like! Or are you not a fan of Lee Min Hawt?
LOL, there’s that. There’s also the repetitiveness and well…. palace employee in tight pink cropped pants. Guess I really don’t like Lee Meh Ho.
Bwahahahahaha Lee Meh Ho. LOVE IT!
The only thing that I was surprised to see in your list was Flower Boy Ramyun Shop. But then again the plot just fell on the second half of the show. I was half-reading it from episode recaps to save me time. Although I totally agree with Secret Garden. I only picked up because people said it was good. I didn’t see the point of the story at all. The relationship wasn’t cute at all plus it go to a point where everything didn’t make sense and got confusing.
Flower Boy Ramyun Shop is overrated, in my humble opinion. Then again, I never watched the drama except for episode 9, which I disliked immensely because of how bad it was quality-wise. I rather enjoyed the recaps, but stopped reading them after episode 10. I don’t know, watching it ruined it for me. If only I stuck with the recaps!
I never got the Coffee Prince and Hong Gil Dong love. Plus the recent Lie To Me.
And Secret Garden.
OMG me neither! I thought both were overrated, although I can see why CP was so popular. I liked it up until halfway through? Then it got pretty predictable. LTM’s a complete trainwreck, and SG’s disgustingly bad. Not to mention completely overrated and should die from the face of the earth. (Jk.)
The only Hong sisters drama I ever liked was Hong Gil Dong. Didn’t like Greatest Love at all. Boys Over Flowers I loved at the time but can’t stand to watch it now nor can I stand watching anything with Goo Hye Sun.
