Thoughts on CBS’s upcoming new TV show Elementary, Part I

endodo: For those of you who don’t know already, CBS, one of America’s broadcasting networks, is planning on airing their own version of Sherlock later in fall of this year. ‘Course, it’s an adaptation of the original Sherlock Holmes story with a twist: instead of a John Watson as Sherlock’s sidekick, they’ve got a Joan Watson instead. While I was expecting an episode full of cuteness and entertaining fluff, I wasn’t anticipating to be disgruntled ten minutes in and bored out of my mind by the first half of the episode. What exactly went wrong for me? Why was it that I was so entertained while reading the recaps for this drama, but when I actually watched it, I couldn’t stand it? Ah, therein lies the answer to my question. Continue reading
